The UK arm of Chinese brokerage firm Vantage has hired Simon Denham to oversee its compliance function, TradeInformer understands.
Denham has been the CEO of Vantage-owned Startrader’s UK operations since August of last year. It’s unclear why the firm established a UK entity, which is not yet licensed by the FCA.
Denham was a co-founder of brokers Capital Spreads and London Capital Group in the early 2000s and served as CEO of the firm for a decade, until leaving in 2013.
He went on to found Mercor Index, which was sold to Tigerwit in 2018.
There have been a couple of big departures from Vantage’s UK entity over the last couple of months.
The company’s compliance head Mansoor Mushtaq left the company in April, FCA data shows, something that TradeInformer reported just prior to it was made official.
Vantage UK CEO David Shrayer also left the firm on Monday, FCA data shows. TradeInformer reported on his departure in April.
